On the results of 2002

SPM steadily continues increasing production capacities for plywood and chipboard. Substantial growth of chipboard manufacture is possible because of equipment modernization in January, 2002 - new cold press and sanding machine were installed for improving panel’s surface quality. The next increase in efficiency up to 10 % is planned in 2003. In 2002 growth of a commodity output was 18% in comparison with the previous year.
Production
SPM flexibly reacts to market tendencies and continues to develop new kinds of production. Thus, in 2002 manufacture of moisture-resistant chipboard and 22-mm thick panels was started. New kind of plywood product– painted plywood - was developed, films decors assortment for plywood lamination was widely enlarged.
Sales markets
SPM always welcomes new customers and is looking forward to marketing potential enhancement. During the last year the geographical area of sales markets was considerably expanded, the dealer centers in other domestic regions (Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov) and the CIS- countries (Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan) were established.
SPM takes the greatest market share in big-size plywood panels manufacture (more than 30 %) and is eager to advance new sales market geographically. It is also important to broaden the product application: monolithic and cottage construction, transport engineering and shipbuilding, furniture specialized and service manufacture, interior decoration, package making, etc.
On the whole, last year was successful for the enterprise. We achieved the following results: increase of the annual turnover and sales, investment adding, further equipment modernization, improvement of quality production properties. Range of the Government and competitive awards and new certificates of quality got during the 2002 confirmed high competitive capacity of SPM production.
